Andrea Guerra, 57 ans, est ami depuis des années avec Patrizio Bertelli, aujourd'hui âgé de 76 ans, selon deux sources proches du groupe. Leur relation remonte à environ 2005, lorsque Prada a commencé à travailler avec Luxottica, devenu EssilorLuxottica, le fabricant de lunettes italien dirigé par Andrea Guerra.
