Only Watch, la plus importante vente aux enchères de montres à but caritatif, a annulé la vente qui devait avoir lieu à Genève le 5 novembre suite à des questionnements sur la manière dont elle a dépensé plus de la moitié des 100 millions d'euros qu'elle a récoltés depuis 2005.
La nouvelle a polarisé l'ensemble de l'industrie horlogère. Certaines grandes maisons comme Audemars Piguet et Patek Philippe ont rapidement coupé les ponts avec l’association derrière cette vente aux enchères, tandis que d'autres, comme F.P. Journe, continuent de la soutenir publiquement.
