Nombre de maisons de mode et de luxe de Balenciaga à Gucci, en passant par Cartier et Rolex, affichent un intérêt grandissant pour le marché de l'occasion. Certaines d’entre elles proposent des produits de seconde main à leurs clients en ligne ou dans leurs boutiques. D'autres choisissent de s’associer à des magasins spécialisés dans le vintage ou ont recours à des sites tels que Vestiaire Collective ou Watchfinder. D'autres encore optent pour une stratégie hybride combinant les deux. Les maisons savent qu’elles n’ont plus le choix. Leurs clients, en particulier les jeunes générations, sont pour beaucoup des militants écologistes. Comment une maison peut-elle prétendre être durable et soucieuse de l’avenir de la planète si elle ne propose pas de services de réparation ou si elle ne reprend pas ses produits afin de promouvoir l’achat de nouveaux ?
