Luxury jumps on the crypto bandwagon

Cryptocurrencies are here to stay. There may have been spectacular drops in the value of the Bitcoin, Ether and other virtual currencies in recent months, but they are the future. That is the message Farfetch sent on Friday when it became the first major fashion and luxury marketplace to announce it would accept payments in digital cash. “Customers are increasingly interested in new ways to pay, and cryptocurrency is growing in importance for the luxury customer base,” Farfetch CEO José Neves told Miss Tweed in an email exchange. “Cryptocurrency adoption is accelerating globally.”
