Le fonds qatarien Mayhoola, propriétaire des maisons Valentino et Balmain, n'a plus l’intention de bâtir un groupe de luxe à lui tout seul et prévoit désormais de devenir un actionnaire influent de Kering à moyen terme, a déclaré son directeur général dans une interview à Miss Tweed.
En juillet dernier, Mayhoola a accepté de vendre 30 % de Valentino au groupe français pour 1,7 milliard d'euros en numéraire. La transaction devrait être finalisée fin novembre. Mais qu’adviendra-t-il de Balmain ? Mayhoola vendra-t-il la maison française en même temps que Valentino en échange d’une plus grande participation dans Kering ? Et quelle influence le fonds qatarien entend-il exercer ?
