The Estée Lauder Companies navigue en eaux troubles. Le nouveau PDG, Stéphane de La Faverie, n’a pas apporté la nouvelle vision dont le géant des cosmétiques américain avait tant besoin. Il est en partie responsable des difficultés que traverse le groupe, comme la quasi-totalité des membres de son équipe, qui comme lui sont en place depuis des années. Les problèmes sont restés les mêmes, seul leur titre a changé.
La famille Lauder, qui contrôle The Estée Lauder Companies, n'a pas osé changer ses capitaines bien installés et grassement payés et a préféré supprimer jusqu’à 7 000 postes. Mais réduire les dépenses ne sera peut-être pas suffisant pour revenir sur le chemin de la croissance et du succès commercial. Estée devra peut-être céder certaines de ses marques.
