Kering is offloading some real estate assets to raise cash and slim down its balance sheet. The French group announced this week it was creating a joint venture with investment firm Ardian. It would hold a 40 percent stake in the business and Ardian 60 percent. The idea is to remove the cash flow pressures generated by Kering’s real estate activities from its core business of making and selling luxury goods.
