Cartier owner Richemont wants investors to know that it is making good on its promise to improve governance and appoint more women to senior positions. After it posted forecast-beating half-year results, the Geneva-based luxury group announced on Friday that the Richemont veteran Patricia Gandji, head of HR and CEO of regions (overseeing group support functions), was joining the senior executive committee with immediate effect. In reality, her job will remain unchanged. Richemont says she will continue to report to CEO Jérôme Lambert, who sits on the senior executive committee together with Chairman Johann Rupert and CFO Burkhart Grund. Her promotion is meant to send out the message that the group is serious about empowering women and valuing people. It “reaffirms the importance of both people and regional matters as Richemont continues its transformation journey”, Richemont said in a statement.
