LVMH is putting its house in order. After decades of strong growth, the world’s biggest luxury group is battling a severe downturn. When it publishes second-quarter sales at the end of the month, analysts expect an even steeper decline than during the first three months of the year.

Investors believe that LVMH is weighing options regarding certain assets. These include floating its beauty retailer Sephora, merging its struggling Moët Hennessy arm with a peer to mutualize costs or selling certain underperforming fashion and beauty brands.

Miss Tweed fêtes its fifth birthday this week. It was launched in 2020, during lockdown – a great time to start an independent online news platform when people have nothing else to do than talk to journalists.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all our readers who support us with their subscriptions, particularly those who have been with us since the beginning. Since then, Miss Tweed has gone from strength to strength. In little time, we have become the go-to media for exclusive news and in-depth analysis on the fashion and luxury industry.

Since 2021, Miss Tweed organizes every April a “Luxury at the Summit” series of conferences in the French ski resort of Val d’Isère.

Dinner Invitation - Monday July 21st
What is going on in America, one of the most important luxury markets in the world?

U.S. President Donald Trump has divided the country. Anti-Trump demonstrations have become frequent. The U.S. economy is gradually slowing down. The so-called “feel-good factor,” on which luxury spending depends, is under pressure. It’s difficult to predict what will happen in terms of economic growth and mood in the next six months.

To understand how the world’s biggest economy has reached this precipice, Miss Tweed would like to invite you to a conference dinner with the U.S. expert and researcher Amy Greene on Monday, July 21st in Paris. Author of the book L’Amérique face à ses fractures (Tallandier, 2024), Amy Greene argues that Trump is not a new phenomenon.
